Abstract: This paper investigates the development of voiced consonant + w clusters (bw, vw, dw) in Old Italo-Romance on the basis of AGLIO (Atlante grammaticale della lingua italiana delle Origini) data. It analyses the evolution from Latin clusters to their Italo-Romance reflexes, the areal distribution of the outcomes, and a set of unexpected forms with voiceless consonants, which are accounted for in phonetic terms.
