Reichs-Druckerei, 90—94 Oranien-Strasse, for the prin
ting of Banknotes and other official printing-work.
Reichshallen-Theater, 77 Leipziger Strasse. A music-
hall with very popular entertainments. Ballet, gymnastics
and comic singing form the staple of the nightly bill of
fare, and all kind of variety show. Performing animals, con
jurers, ventriloquists, tight-rope dancers, velocipedists, cham
pion skaters, imitators, marionettes, champion shots, living
models of marble gems, statue marbles, empresses of the air,
kings and queens of the wire, canon ball performers etc. —
all have their turn on the music-hall stage.
Restaurant (Oysters), J. Schwanzer, Friedrich-
Strasse 66 ; see advertisement at the back.
Restaurant. Aime’s Grand Restaurant Imperial
Unter den Linden 16 (Proprietor, A. Colas), is an old, well-
known establishment, much frequented by strangers. The
cuisine is essentially French and very excellent; dinners may
be had from 2,50 Marks up. The wines and beers of this
restaurant imported direct from the great wholesale houses.
The central location and cosmopolitan character of this place
have always succeeded in securing the patronage of visitors.
Restaurants. The Grand Restaurant & Garden of
Mr. Paul Speil, Unter den Linden 13, opposite the Aquarium,
may be recommended as good place where an excellent,
substantial table is kept. Table d’hote may be had at 1,50
Mark, and the prices a la carte are very moderate. A large
stock of excellent wines and Munich beer is kept. Visitors
to the German Capital are frequent guests here. English
and French spoken.
Riding Schools. One of the very best establishment for
taking riding-lessons in town is that of the Royal Slailes
35/36, Breitestrasse, which has as good a covered school
as can be found. In this case, as in all matters of educa
tion, much must necessarily depend upon circumstances; but
it may be roughly said that two dozen lessons from one of
those competent instructors will enable you to ride fairly.
