Online Help
With the enactment of the ordinance of 22.03.2024 on the deposit copy law, the obligation to deliver digital publications from Berlin to the Central and State Library (ZLB) comes into force.
Only digital publications published in Berlin after March 22, 2024 are subject to deposit.
Official (governmental) publications are an exception. They had to be made available to the ZLB before this date.
Submission of Electronic Mandatory Publications
We, the Berlin Central and State Library (ZLB), have the legal mandate to archive and make available all electronic media works published in Berlin. In 2021, the Submission of Mandatory Copies Act was amenden and there now is an obligation to submit documents by electronic means (e-obligation) as well.
You can submit your publications via our Portal for Archiving Digital Publications.
If you have any questions about the submission process, this online help provides you with detailed descriptions, explanations and examples.
For the time being, we can only accept submissions that are subject to mandatory submission. Unfortunately, we must reject submissions that do not fall under the Mandatory Copy Act. You can find more information about this under FAQ and Who and what is subject to mandatory submission?
Submission allows you to become part of the city's cultural legacy. Your publications will be available to a broad public and we will make them accessible in accordance with statutory requirements.
